New Year’s Eve Getaway at Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi
Day 1. Arrival and Welcome to Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi
Upon arrival at Rovaniemi Airport (RVN), a driver will greet you with a sign bearing your name and transfer you to your accommodation, which takes about 10 minutes*. Once there, you will check in and settle into your cabin. Dinner on your own** and overnight stay in Rovaniemi.
*Thermal clothing option: You have the option to add thermal gear for the entire duration of your stay, ensuring you're prepared for the Arctic climate. If you choose this, a stop will be made along the way to the accommodation to provide it.
**When making the reservation, you can opt to add half-board, which includes dinners during your stay.
Day 2. Complete Arctic Adventure: Huskies, Reindeer, and Ice Fishing
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, you'll enjoy a full day of activities in a unique natural setting, located by a frozen lake just 20 minutes from Santa Claus Village or Rovaniemi.
The day begins with an exciting husky safari adventure. Energetic Huskies will ensure you have an unforgettable experience. The sled will be guided by an expert in huskies, guaranteeing the safety and enjoyment of the whole family. After this adrenaline-packed activity, it's time for a relaxing reindeer sleigh ride, a symbol of Lapland. Snuggled in a family sleigh and covered with reindeer blankets, you'll enjoy the snowy landscape of the Arctic region, immersed in the tranquility of nature.
Next, you'll experience the Finnish tradition of ice fishing. You'll drill a hole in the ice, prepare the rod, and, with some patience, wait to see if you can catch a river trout—an authentic Arctic challenge!
At lunchtime, a delicious salmon stew will be waiting for you at the hotel restaurant, a local specialty you must not miss. After lunch, return to your accommodation to rest and enjoy a free afternoon. Overnight stay in Rovaniemi.
Day 3. Visit to Santa Claus Village and Entrance to Santapark
In the morning, after breakfast, you'll have free time at the Official Santa Claus Village, where you can go sledding down its snow-covered hills, visit Santa's Official Post Office to send letters, cross the Arctic Circle to receive an official certificate, and shop for souvenirs in its Lapland stores. You can also greet your family via webcam in the central square.
In the afternoon, transfer and visit Santapark theme park, where you can explore its Christmas attractions, such as Santa's Magic Train, the Elf School, and visit Mama Claus's kitchen. Don’t miss the chance to decorate gingerbread cookies and watch the Elves' acrobatics at the theater!
The day culminates with the most awaited visit: a meeting with Santa Claus! You'll have time to ask him questions, take photos, and receive his best Christmas wishes.
At the end of the day, transfer back to your accommodation. Overnight stay in Rovaniemi.
Day 4. Free Day
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, you will have a free day to enjoy at your own pace. You can take the opportunity to have fun in the snow: slide down on a sled, build a snowman, or enjoy an exciting snowball fight at Santa Claus Village. Overnight stay in Rovaniemi.
If you prefer, in the next step of the reservation, you can choose from several optional activities (not included in the package), such as:
- Snowmobile Safari: Experience the thrill of driving through the snow and enjoy the Arctic landscape.
- Icebreaker Excursion: Navigate the Gulf of Bothnia, break the ice, and swim in the frozen sea.
- Skiing and Snowboarding: Enjoy an afternoon of skiing or snowboarding at the Ounasvaara slopes.
- Snowman World: Explore an ice park with sculptures, slides, and an ice skating rink.
- Ranua Zoo: Visit the Arctic zoo and observe the wildlife in its natural habitat, with lunch included.
- Northern Lights by Snowmobile: Hunt for the Northern Lights on a snowmobile, with a stop for hot drinks.
Day 5. Breakfast, Check-out, Shopping, and Transfer to the Airport
After breakfast, check-out of your cabin* and enjoy some free time to do last-minute Christmas shopping at Santa Claus Village, while the kids have fun playing in the snow with their sleds. At the scheduled time, transfer to Rovaniemi Airport. End of our services.
